WOD VOCATIONAL HUB

ALL YOU SHOULD KNOW

The Wheels Of Development Organization is constructing its first community Vocational School for Kapeeka Campus.
A SEASON OF GROWTH
WOD is building a new, 4-acre campus in the heart of KAPEEKA that will train five times an many students as we do today. Once complete, the campus will serve more than 300 students each year – all while sharing God’s love through word and deed.
Thanks to your generosity, Phase 1 of the Vocational Block A is complete! The new campus will open it’s doors in January 2023.
Today, we’re moving forward with Phase 2, which will include a second classroom building and a large workshop for welding, construction and carpentry training programs. Scroll down to see an architect’s rendering of these new buildings and take a 3D virtual tour of the future campus.

OUR MAIN GOAL

Vocational school project WOD-KAPEEKA 2020-08-01T09:43:34+01:00
Our children have to start learning a trade from an early age
Kids like Yusuf, Jude and Joy and many others came to us as children over 10 years ago. They were young, some of them still babes in arms. They have since gone on to become teenagers and young adults. They have learned reading, writing and arithmetic, but that is not enough to truly stand on their own two feet.
Vocational training will play a decisive role in their future, but where they live, there are at least 20 pupils for every apprenticeship.

This is why we are asking for your support in the building and running of a vocational school on the WOD grounds that are already available. What exactly does our project entail? In our analysis, the difference between availability of apprenticeships and demand is at its greatest in these areas:
carpentry and joinery, bricklaying, Computer Skills
with a solar based labaratory, painting, plumbing, electrical installation,
metalfabrication, motor vehicle mechanics, poultry,fishfarming,
beekeeping, tailoring, catering, hair dressing and computer repair. All the above
under DIT assessment
